This past week, I picked up one of the many books from my bookshelf. This specific book, "The Brewmaster's Table" has been sitting on the shelf for a little less than a year. It was the book that I bought for a number of my friends last Christmas. Its a great read if you enjoy beer and food. In the past, I have never serious thought about pairing food with beer. Reading the book, the author had high remarks about the "Saison" and its versatility with almost any food. I took these remarks to heart and tried drinking Ommegang's Hennepin (Saison) with a Spicy Italian Grinder from Subway (I am a Beer Snob, not a Food Snob). I was surprised how well the two went together. By the end of the grinder, I was surprised to find that I poured the last drop of the Hennepin into my glass. Best meal from Subway ever! I suggest you give the "Saison" a try with your favorite dish.
I should mention Ommegang's Hennepin is my 2nd favorite Saison - Farmhouse Ale. Also, its made domestically in Cooperstown, NY and Ommegang is my favorite brewery.

OK, where can I find this beer?! I am really intrigued and I need to try it. I love pairing beer with food, it really makes a difference. But I never know which beers go with which foods.
